The Bennington County Child Care Association is a membership-supported
organization of people committed to providing affordable, quality
early care and education services in Bennington County and the
nation. BCCCA provides support and educational opportunities
for licensed and registered child care providers, and offers
a range of consultation, educational and resource and referral
services to parents and businesses throughout the county.
BCCCA recently has relocated from three sites around Bennington
to a common "home" at its lead agency, Sunrise Family
Resource Center. BCCCA is one of Vermont's 12 child care resource
and referral agencies and is now located on the second floor
of Sunrise's 226 Union St. site.
Pam Torres, resource development specialist, coordinates professional
development opportunities for early care and education providers,
publishes the CONNECTING newsletter and will soon be offering "Welcome
to Child Care" visits to those people applying to have a
registered child care home. Tanya Henry, child care subsidy specialist,
administers the employment, training/school, Reach-Up, and work
search categories of Vermont's State Child Care Subsidy Program.
She helps parents through the subsidy application process and
assures subsidy payments to area early care and education providers.
Kelly Belville, family support specialist, administers the incapacity,
Family Support and Protective Services Subsidy Programs. In addition
to processing subsidy applications, she offers ongoing support
to area early care and education providers and to families with
young children.
Linda Bennett, referral specialist, assists families in finding
child care. Families in need of child care can contact her for
possible openings in Bennington County.
Terry Yavaniski, early childhood mental health specialist, provides
consultation and ongoing support to area early care and education
providers and to families with young children, birth to 6 years.
Lori Pinsonneault, child care support services coordinator,
